I'm a Sucker for a Good Presentation
After dinner on Monday night our dear daughter sat us down for a little presentation. She wants a cell phone. I mean, REALLY wants a cell phone. She has tried begging. She has tried whining. She has even tried verbal abuse. This logical, business-like approach may just be tipping the scale in her favor . . . (even if the numbers on the pie chart don't add up to 100).

JUST FOR THE EFFORT SHE DESERVE IT, HEHE.
ReplyDeleteA CHEAP ONE.
HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Brilliant. Just brilliant.
ReplyDeleteLove it! I love my t-mobile pay-as-you-go. Cheap phone ($10 I think) and then 100 dollars for a year. When I truly only use it for safety and convenience (darn hard to find a working pay phone these days), I never run out of minutes.
ReplyDeleteReally? Kids these days... They are too smart for us aren't they? We gave in to Alex's request when he pointed out that i would not be able to get ahold of him after school once Andrew moved on to High School. I'm a sucker like that.
ReplyDeleteglad the pie chart has now been explained.
ReplyDeleteshe definitely has a future in persuasive speaking - love it!
Wasn't the dog her idea? You guys love the dog, maybe you will love her cell phone too. We have a kid's cell phone. I will admit, it is really nice to be able to send it with them if they decide to go out and about. I am sure it is only a matter of time before Em has one of her own though. I got my first glimpse of the teen years when we were at a restaurant with Em and four of her friends. They were all sitting around the table texting...I think each other.
ReplyDeletethis is one reason why i like sydney so much. i relate to her. i used to write my parents formal business letters, stating my requests and/or complaints. maybe if i'd thought to use some sort of graphic representation of the numbers involved, i might have been more successful... :)
ReplyDeleteIt would definitely start tipping the scales for me.
ReplyDeleteShe almost talked ME into buying her a phone. I don't even know you guys (although I just found your blog this morning and I've spent a good 45 minutes reading back posts, so I feel like I know you) and she had me at the pie graph.
