Favorite Fonts

I'm a total geek for fonts.  I love it when I can name the font used in an advertisement or online.  I also love it when I fall in love with a font in print somewhere and then I find it online and can have it for myself.  I ALSO like it very much when people share their favorite fonts on their blogs.  I've found some really great fonts that way.  Too many.  I have hundreds of fonts on this poor old computer -- way more than any person really needs.  I've been thinking about going through and deleting some that I don't use regularly, but it's hard.  Some of my fonts I have never used, but I know exactly what I WOULD use them for . . . if the need ever came about . . . but it hasn't and probably never will . . . but just in case . . .   I'm a font hoarder!  So, I thought I would share a few of my faves with y'all today, just in case you're looking for some fresh typefaces.  The first is a list of my Go-To fonts -- the old, tried and true standbys that I use most often:

Now here is a list of some of my latest finds {they may not be "new" fonts - just new to me}:

There you have it.  I would love to know what your favorite fonts are in the comments if you want to share. Have a great day!

Here's a list of my favorite font combinations and a brief tutorial on installing fonts to your computer in case you're hungry for more font goodness.

*EDITED TO ADD:  It has been brought to my attention that the links to Feel Script and Artistamp were actually bootlegged copies of expensive fonts.  I have removed the links -- sorry.

  2. Yes, fonts! I'm a total geek for them too. I think they are right up there with my love of bookstores and office supply stores (I know, weird). Thanks for providing links to the fonts; I can't wait to find an excuse to use Beyond Wonderland.

    Cheers!

  4. Fonts are so fun! I found this post through Pinterest, and when I followed your link, I was surprised to find that you are the "real amy g". I just posted on my blog using your font in a "Thankful Heart".

I first saw "pea amy g" on another blog header, and searched for it because I liked that font so much.

Thanks for sharing your font sources :)

  6. Love these fonts, but I'm kind of an idiot and I can't figure out how to use them in a word doc. I have downloaded a few of these, and I LOVE them, but how do you actually get them into word? Help?

  9. Just an FYI that link to Feel Script is a pirated copy of a very expensive font.

  11. I'm also in love with Feel Script! I've seen it used in wedding invitations and I've always wanted to have it on my computer. I tried downloading it from the link but I don't know which program to use to open the file. As you can tell I'm definitely a rookie at this lol. Would someone be able to let me know because I'm so excited to use it!

    Thanks :)

  18. I just love fonts... I spent the last ten years hunting, buying and collecting all the fonts I can get... I enjoy all the commercial font companies and actually prefer them over the free fonts as most free copies of the commercial fonts have kerning and tracking issues... great to see another font hound....
my favorite font for sans serif is Interstate... for a good book font it is Plantin....

  19. Don't worry... I'm a font hoarder too! You never know when you might need an extra swirly font for something! =)

  20. I'm a font hoarder as well - I had probably upwards of 500+ fonts on my old computer before it bit the dust! Feel Script is one of my absolute favorites, but I'm a poor retail worker, so $100 for a font is completely ridiculous to me. However, you can get a free font that is very similar, though not the same {I know, I hate having to go for "similar", because I'm that picky!}. The font is called "At Mohagany Script", and you can google it and pull up sites for the free font. Its better than just wishing you could have Free Script!

  22. LOVE fonts! Adding these now! So excited! :) Thank you!

  23. Artistamp is also a bootleg copy of a paid font. Mind you the whole Artistamp set is only $20, but it's still someone's income you're taking by handing it out for free.
Here's the designer's site where you can buy his fonts: http://www.fontbros.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=HAFO-ARME

    Thanks !

  25. Mona,
The font I'm using for my post and sidebar titles is actually Teletype, which is really similar to My Own Topher {another go-to font for me}. Thanks for all the nice comments, guys!

  35. Beautiful - found you on Pinterest. I use Beyond Wonderland all the time - love, love, love it! Another fave is Jane Austen, which is based on her handwriting. Was disappointed that Feel Script was so expensive, but AtMahoganyScript is similar and very nice.

  36. I saw this on Pinterest too. I have been a font hoarder for years. When I took Graphic Designs i College, they told me to stick to Verdana or other familiar fonts for my designs. What fun is THAT? I have programs to look at fonts without being in any typing program, and I have a program to turn off fonts so a million fonts don't load when you are trying to load Illustrator or some other printing program. I know I'm geeky like that, but at least this hobby isn't stored in plastic tubs all over the house.
