I was really excited when I was offered the opportunity to create and review a set of custom UPrinting postcards. For the past couple of years I have used post cards as our family Christmas card so my first thought was, "Is it too early to get the family Christmas card together?" I know -- that's crazy! Instead I decided to design an all-occasion card that I could send out to people "just because". We don't send enough pleasant mail anymore, in my opinion.
One of my all-time favorite quotes is "Never suppress a generous thought," from Camilla Kimball, the wife of one of our beloved church leaders. When I was called to work with the teenage girls at church several years ago I took that message to heart. If anyone needs you to act on your generous thoughts toward them, it's teenagers! So I designed a little card with a pretty picture of the Eiffel Tower that said "tres magnifique" across the front. Everything is better in french, right? I kept a few in my church bag at all times so that when I saw one of "my girls" being especially nice, or if they did a great job singing or speaking in sacrament meeting, I could write a little note on the spot while I was thinking about it and drop it in the mailbox when I got home. Too often our best intentions get lost in the shuffle of our busy lives and I didn't want that to happen.
Over the years I have sent out a bunch of those cards. I don't know if they have meant anything to girls {I like to think that they have}, but it has made me feel really good so I have kept it up. I just printed those first cards I designed from my inkjet printer onto cardstock. Nothing fancy, but they served their purpose. When this awesome opportunity from UPrinting presented itself, I knew it was time to make some nicer cards.
I was so impressed with the UPrinting site. I'm telling you, the ordering process could not be any easier! Just choose your options . . .
. . . and it calculates the price right there for you so there are no surprises at the end. Then you get to designing! You can upload a completed image or you can design your own using their site. I uploaded my image . . .
. . . gave them my shipping info and I was done. Will you look at how beautiful they turned out?! I couldn't be any more pleased with the product.
Here are a couple of other designs I created just for y'all to get your own all-occasion postcards from UPrinting.

Seriously adorable Amy! You have such a gift for things like this :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, this comment is late, but I have to thank you for this post. The quote that motivated you to make and sent these sweet cards has not left my mind since I read this post in July. I found the talk that tells the story behind this quote and have been pondering it off and on for months now. Thank you for sharing!
