Recognize that jar? It's the candy jar I was using to hold my Werther's sugar-free candy that I love so much. I needed something pretty and this fit the bill. It started out life as a jar of Parmesan cheese. After running it through the dishwasher and removing the label, I spray painted the lid and attached a pretty knob with E6000 craft glue. I love it! Guess who has two thumbs and won't be tossing out any Parmesan jars from now on . . . .this girl!!
So, to make the scrub, choose any jar or small container. I'll probably grab some mason jars from my garage for the ones I'm giving away this week. Fill the jar 2/3 full with white sugar then add Dawn Hand Renewal dish soap to fill the other 1/3.
{Gosh, that's a bad picture! Sorry.} Use a fork to stir the dish soap into the sugar. You'll need to add a bit more sugar to top it off as you stir. This is what it looks like when it's all mixed up:
That's all, folks! Just screw on the lid and add a cute label. You can download and use the one I designed, if you'd like.
I printed it on card stock as a 3 inch square, cut out the circle and used a glue stick to attach it to my jar. It's just a simple, pretty, thoughtful gift that you can share with your mom or your friends who are moms. We should celebrate each other, right?! You could also add a bottle of your favorite lotion and some pretty nail polish to make it a more substantial gift if you wanted.
To use the scrub, just scoop out about a tablespoonful and massage it into your hands for a minute or so before rinsing in warm water. Follow up with lotion to keep your hands extra soft!

DeleteWhat is another thng you could use instead of Dawn Hand Renewal dish soap?
ReplyDeleteI think you could replace the Dawn dish soap with any kind of liquid hand soap. Hope that helps!
