HI guys! I am so excited to share today's project with y'all. So, you know how I have gotten bored with my butter yellow walls and have been itching to paint them white? Well, I FINALLY decided to just dive in and do it! It's going to be a slow process as I paint a wall here and a wall there when I find the time, but we're doing it and I couldn't be more pleased. I do still like the yellow so I wanted to keep a little bit of it as an accent in my sea of bright, pretty whiteness. We have this landing at the top of our stairs that serves as a "hallway" of sorts between the kids' bedrooms and bathroom. I thought it would be the ideal spot to keep a little color and bring in some pattern.

Hi everyone! Just wanted to let y'all know my latest project is up on Craftaholics Anonymous® today. I made this bright, fun bandana wreath for my front door to celebrate the end of school schedules and the beginning of our summer freedom! I love how simple it is, while still having a huge impact on my entryway. You'll never believe how inexpensive it was or or how little time it took to make. Head on over and check it out!

Thrift Store Chair Makeover

I love finding a really good deal at the thrift store! When I saw this old caned-back chair at Goodwill several weeks ago, I couldn't believe it was only $6. Sure, it was dated -- and the upholstery had seen better days, and it was covered in cat hair -- but it was sturdy. And it was just the right size to fit an empty corner of our living room, so I knew it had to come home with me.

Super Easy Craft Idea from Girl's Camp: Embellished Flip Flops

Hi guys! You all know by now that I spend the first weekend of my summer break every year at a church camp for teenage girls. I love it!! I have gone in many different roles over the past NINE SUMMERS, but my favorite role so far has been leader of the craft committee. It was in the craft cabin at Girls Camp when I was a young'n that I realized I had a kinda' knack for this stuff and developed a life-long love for crafting. It is fun for me to see girls embrace their creativity -- and to teach girls who don't think they are creative how to tap into that part of themselves -- and have a great time with it. I LOVE IT!

Hi guys! I've got another really fun project for you today sponsored by Wholeport, one of my favorite sources for beautiful fabric on the internet. This month they sent me this gorgeous fuschia and gray floral print fabric to get busy with. {Yep, it's another retired Vera Bradley print.} It is amazing in person -- the colors are to-die-for. I also had about a yard and a half of this light pink quilted fabric in my craft closet that I had picked up on clearance a while back and I thought they look beautiful together.

"Totes" Adorbs! A Tied-Handle Tote Bag

Hey there! I made a sweet little blanket the other day to give to lady at church who is having a baby. {Watch for that tutorial next week!} Since I had a little of both this pink quilted fabric and the gorgeous floral cotton fabric from Wholeport leftover, I whipped up a matching tote/diaper bag to go with it. I've had this tote bag design kicking around in my head for a while now. I've even mentally worked through the construction of it several times when I couldn't sleep at night. I figured it was about time I finally gave it a go.

Hi guys! The interior shake-up continues in our home. When I get tired of something {our house} and I can't afford to fix what's really bothering me {by knocking down walls and such}, I tend to find a bunch of other little diversions. I can't remodel my kitchen/dining room anytime soon, which is what I would REALLY like to do, but I CAN add a little bit of cottage-y vibe to the space with some new thrifted accessories.

Hi guys -- Welcome back! Today I'm sharing a super simple tutorial for making decorative tassels out of cocktail napkins. If you spend time on Pinterest looking at the awe-inspiring parties people are throwing for their children, you have seen your share of tissue paper tassel garlands. They're adorable. So, the other day I made a new bunting with our new family motto {I'll get to that later!} and needed just a little pop of color and pattern to finish it. That's when I also remembered these UH-MAZING Vera Bradley paper cocktail napkins that I picked up for a project years ago. I love it when a project comes together like that!

Celebration Punch

Hello, friends! My husband and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary about a week ago and it brought up all kinds of fun memories. Oddly enough, one of the things I remember fondly about our wedding was the punch that was served at our reception. We call it "Wedding Punch" because it was served at most, if not all, of my siblings' weddings, as well as at my parents' wedding back in the day. Over the years, in our little family, we have served it at birthday parties, baby showers, pool parties, and even backyard barbeques, so I think a more fitting name for it would be "Celebration Punch".

Hi guys! Have you ever fallen in love with a shop before you really realized that it was pretty much waaaayyyy out of your price range? Sadly enough, it happens to me. Often. Such was the case when I saw this beautiful linen tablecloth from ruffledlinens on Etsy. It was perfect -- the mitered corners so it fit snug on the table, the cute ruffly edging, the linen fabric, the shabby chic style. I loved absolutely everything about it. Until I saw the price, which I'm sure is totally reasonable for such a lovely custom tablecloth, but is more than I could justify paying on my budget. Time to get creative!

Hello, friends! Over the weekend, my husband and I celebrated our 18th anniversary. It is unbelievable to me that we have been together for so long. I still feel like a kid! It feels like just yesterday we were dating at BYU, but we do have three teenage children to prove our age. I guess there's no denying it.
We don't usually give each other gifts to celebrate our anniversaries, but this year I made a little something special for him as a surprise. It doesn't really make a lot of sense without knowing the back story, so here it is:

Hello, friends! I am slowly, but surely, giving my living room a little facelift. We've had our Funky Typography artwork hanging up in there for several years, which is awesome, but I was more than ready for something new to look at every day. I've never been good about using family portraits in my decorating. I'm not sure why . . . I just kind of figured if I wanted to see my kids, I could just . . . look at them. Or something. I never claimed to be mother of the year, folks.

Hi everyone! One thing I'm learning about having teenage boys in the house is that they are like human vacuums. No, they don't pick up after themselves and leave every room cleaner for having been there. I wish! They inhale every ounce of food I bring up in this place. They are almost ALWAYS hungry. People warned me about this, and still I'm shocked. They invariably come home from school famished and ransack the kitchen looking for something good to eat. After my shopping trip to Safeway this week, they were excited to find Carnation Breakfast Essentials packs in the pantry so they could make their favorite smoothies.

No Bake Cocoa Puffs Cookies
HI guys! Today I have another delicious recipe to share with y'all that features one of my family's favorite things -- CEREAL!! It's a little bit weird how excited my kids get about cold cereal. I'm telling you, if I stopped cooking meals altogether and just kept a pantry full of cereal and a fridge full of milk, it would likely be months before anyone complained. No joke. Too bad for them, I actually like to cook {usually} so cereal remains a breakfast . . . and after-school snack . . . and often an after dinner/ before-bed snack. If my kids are REALLY lucky, cereal sometimes even becomes a dessert, like No-Bake Cocoa Puffs® Cookies.
